By accessing and using Datadef ("the Service"), an AI-powered technical diagram generator, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. These terms apply to all users of the Service, including anonymous visitors, account holders, and team subscribers.
Datadef is an AI-powered technical diagram generator that allows users to create data architecture, system design, cloud infrastructure, and data flow diagrams. The Service includes:
The Service has a free daily allowance, which needs no account, and two paid subscriptions. An account is a subscription: creating one starts the free trial of a paid plan.
Payments are processed by Polar.sh, which acts as our merchant of record and uses Stripe for payment processing. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees and authorize the charge of your payment method at each renewal until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly depending on the plan chosen, unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Pro and Team start with a 7-day free trial, and a payment method is required to start it. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, the first payment is taken when the trial ends and the subscription renews from then on. A trial is offered once per person, and a trial may be refused for an email address or payment method that has already used one.
You may cancel at any time from the billing portal. Paid features remain available until the end of the trial or of the billing period already paid for, and the subscription does not renew. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except where applicable consumer law requires one. Refunds are issued through Polar as merchant of record, to the payment method that was charged.
When a subscription ends, your content stays in your account. The account can still open and export everything it made, and delete it, and public links and embeds you have already published keep serving. Editing, AI generation and AI editing, repository sync and the other paid features are unavailable until you subscribe again.
The Service runs an AI model on your behalf when it generates a diagram, runs a detailed generation, applies an AI edit, imports a file into a diagram, or runs a repository sync that finds new commits and regenerates a diagram.
Without an account, AI use is limited to the free daily allowance on the scratch canvas. An account without an active subscription has no AI use. Pro and Team include unlimited AI generation and AI editing under fair use: daily limits sit well above normal use, and we may limit or suspend automated or high-volume use that is not consistent with normal use of the Service. We reserve the right to apply rate limits to prevent abuse of AI services.
The scratch canvas can be used without an account. Everything else requires an account, created with email/password or OAuth authentication (Google or GitHub), and an active Pro or Team subscription, which starts with a 7-day trial. If you create an account, you are responsible for:
You may not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, including but not limited to violating intellectual property rights, distributing malware, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
You retain all rights to the diagrams and content you create using Datadef. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
The Datadef platform, including its design, features, code, and AI models, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service without our express written permission.
We store your diagrams, projects, and related data on secure servers. While we implement industry-standard security measures, you acknowledge that no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining backups of any critical data.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. We may delete your account data, though we will provide reasonable notice when possible.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DATADEF AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time by updating this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service.
